Smt Vidyaben D Gardi High School & Junior College is part of the NCWA Education Complex over on P K Road in Mulund West. It is a fairly large place because we have both the high school students and the older ones in the junior college. The neighborhood is crowded, so there is always a lot of activity right outside the main gates. Inside, the classrooms are packed with benches and the walls are covered with old charts and student work. It is not a modern, glass-fronted building. It is a solid, older structure that has seen thousands of students pass through over the years. The junior college section gets quite serious around exam time, with students huddled in the corners studying their notes. Meanwhile, the younger kids are usually making a lot of noise during their lunch breaks. The staff room is a busy hub where teachers try to have a quick cup of tea between their classes. We do not have a big team of people for promotion or anything like that. We just focus on the teaching and the paperwork that comes with running a college and a school together. Sometimes the fans are a bit noisy and the chalk dust gets everywhere, but that is just part of the job. We stay open until the late afternoon classes finish up and the building finally clears out for the evening.
