Siyaab

We have been here at Shop No. 271/273 for a while now. If you know Bellasis Road, you know how loud it gets with all the traffic and people moving around near Jehangir B. Behram Marg. It's just part of the day for us. We are right across from the Arabia Hotel, which is usually the easiest way to explain where we are to anyone who hasn't visited Siyaab before. Some days the humidity in Mumbai really gets to you, and we just keep the fans going and try to get through the work. People stop by after eating or while they are out running errands in the neighborhood. It is not a very big space, but we make it work with what we have. Most mornings start with cleaning the dust off the front and setting things up before the sun gets too high. We aren't trying to do anything fancy here, just running the shop as usual. You see the same faces walking by every afternoon, and sometimes the delivery guys struggle to find parking on the main road, so they have to walk a bit. It’s a busy corner of the world. We have been sitting here watching the street change over the years, but the hotel stays the same and the noise never really stops. If you find yourself on this side of town, you’ll see our sign right there among the others.
