Silicon Metal Industries

Silicon Metal Industries is based at 42 1st Carpenter Street. To find us, you need to go to the second floor and look for Room No. 25. The building is one of those old ones that has seen a lot of use over the years. The hallway is usually a bit dim and you can hear the sounds of other businesses nearby. We work with metals here. Our room is filled with samples and some basic equipment for checking the quality of what we get in. It is not a very big room, so we have to keep everything tucked away in the corners. Carpenter Street is always full of activity, mostly related to hardware and metal trades. You can see trucks unloading all day long. It makes for a lot of noise, but you get used to it after a week or two. We spend our time going through the daily requirements and checking on the metal stocks. Sometimes we have to go down to the street to meet a delivery or check a load. The stairs are a bit steep, so we try not to forget anything when we head up in the morning. It’s a simple life. We don’t have a big marketing team or anyone to answer the phones with a script. It’s just us doing the metal business as best as we can in this small space. We hope the weather stays decent so the humidity doesn't mess with things too much.
