If you go to Borivali West, you’ll find us amongst all the other shops and traders. We deal mostly in stainless steel items, so the place is always full of that metallic smell. There are stacks of crates and boxes piled up nearly to the ceiling. It can be a bit of a maze trying to walk from the front to the back of the store. I usually spend my morning checking the inventory and talking to the delivery drivers who bring in the new stock. It’s heavy work, moving all that steel around. My hands are usually a bit grey by the end of the day. The shop has been here for a while, and the floor shows it. It’s concrete and has a few cracks here and there. We don't have much in the way of decoration. We just have the products on the shelves and a small desk where I keep the ledger and the phone. Borivali is a crowded place, so there’s always noise coming in from the street—horns honking and people shouting. We just get used to it. Customers come in looking for specific parts or kitchenware, and we help them find what they need. It’s straightforward business. No one is wearing a suit here. We just wear what’s comfortable for moving boxes. When the sun goes down, we pull the shutters and head home like everyone else on this block. It’s a solid way to make a living.
