We’ve been here at Shriram Metal for a while now, right on Bazar India Colony Road 28/C. It’s a busy spot but we like it. Most days it’s just us handling the metal work and keeping things moving. We do not have a big fancy office or anything like that. It is just a workshop where we get things done. People stop by when they need something specific made or cut. The traffic on the road can be a bit much in the mornings, but that’s just how it is around here. We’ve seen the neighborhood change a lot over the years. Some shops closed and new ones opened, but we stayed put. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s what we know. We keep our tools sharp and the floor mostly swept. If you walk past 28/C, you’ll probably hear us working inside. We do not spend much time on the computer or doing paperwork if we can help it. Usually, one of us is out back moving stuff around. We just try to keep up with the orders that come in from the locals. It’s a small operation, just a few of us making sure the metal goes where it’s supposed to go. Nothing too complicated about it. We just open up early, do the work, and go home when the sun sets. It works for us. We keep the kettle on and the machines running until it's time to lock up.
