Shri Laxmi Metal Mart

You can find our shop at 2 Dahisar West. We deal in all sorts of metal goods and items for the house. It’s a traditional kind of mart, filled with the smell of brass and steel. The shelves are packed with pots, pans, and various hardware bits. It’s a bit of a maze inside because we try to fit as much as we can into the space. We’ve been in Dahisar for a long time and have seen many families grow up. People come in looking for something specific, like a heavy cooking pot or a set of tiffins. Sometimes they just need a few screws or a new latch for a door. It gets quite noisy when we are unloading new crates of metalware. The clanging of the pots is something you get used to after a while. We don't have a big team, just a few of us making sure everything is in its place. The front of the shop is usually open to the street, so we see everyone walking by. It can get a bit dusty with the road right there, so we spend time wiping down the display items. It’s a straightforward business. We aren't trying to be anything fancy. We just open up in the morning, talk to the customers, and help them find what they are looking for. It’s a steady life and we like being part of the local community here in the West side.
