We have been operating Shrenik Steels Pvt Ltd out of 17 Khetwadi Vitthalwadi for quite some time now. Our workspace is in Harihar Niwas, which is a regular old building in a very busy part of the city. We aren’t some massive corporation with a fancy glass office or a big reception area. Most days, it is just us surrounded by stacks of steel and a lot of paperwork. The neighborhood is always noisy and crowded, but we have gotten used to the pace of life here. People come by asking for different types of metal, and we do our best to find what they need in the warehouse. It is heavy work and the air often gets a bit dusty from all the iron and steel moving around. We don’t spend much time on the computer unless we are checking an invoice or a price list. It is more about the physical labor and talking to the regulars who have been buying from us for years. Some of the staff have been here since the beginning, so we all know how the local trade works. If you walk past Harihar Niwas, you will probably see us loading a truck or moving some rods. We don’t have a big mission statement or anything like that. We just show up every morning, handle the orders, and head home when the job is done. It is a simple, practical way to make a living in Khetwadi.
