Shreeram & Co.

You can find us at Door Number 110 in the Kakakawa Building. We are situated in 3rd Bhoiwada, which is one of those parts of the city where the streets are so narrow you can almost touch the buildings on both sides. It is a very old area with a lot of history. Shreeram & Co. has been operating out of this room for a long time. The building itself shows its age, but it is sturdy enough for our needs. We have high shelves filled with ledgers and stock that go right up to the ceiling. You have to use an old wooden ladder to reach the top ones. It is often quite dark inside because the sun doesn't reach down into these narrow lanes very well. We use a lot of tube lights to see what we are doing. The atmosphere outside is usually busy, with people shouting to each other across the street and the smell of tea and spices from the nearby stalls. We don't have much space for a waiting area, so people usually just stand by the door while we talk. It is a traditional way of doing business. We know our suppliers and our customers by their first names. Most of our day is spent checking inventories and writing out receipts by hand. It is not a modern office, but it works for us. We like the tradition of being in Bhoiwada and being part of the daily life here.
