Our office is over on the first floor of Laxmi Industrial Estate, right across from the Khankhas Masala place on Tagore Market Road. If you know the area, you know it smells like spices all the time which is actually quite nice. We spend our days dealing with paperwork and talking to people about their savings and where they want to put their money. It is a lot of numbers and forms to fill out, but that is just the nature of the job. The building itself is older and has that industrial feel to it, with people constantly moving goods around downstairs. We have a few desks and some chairs for people to sit while we go over things. Sometimes it gets a bit noisy with the market traffic right outside, but we are used to it by now. People usually drop by when they are already out doing their shopping nearby. We don't have a big staff, just a few of us here keeping track of everything. It’s mostly about staying organized and making sure all the records are correct. We’ve been in this spot for a good while and have seen many shops come and go on this road. We just keep doing our thing, day in and day out. It is not always exciting work but it feels good when things are sorted and the files are put away. Most of our day is spent on the phone or looking at screens.
