Shree Yash Stainless Pvt. Ltd. is based at 132/13, Kika Street, right in the thick of the stainless steel market. If you’ve ever walked down Kika Street, you know it’s a maze of shops and warehouses with handcarts everywhere. Our place is tucked in there, and we’ve been part of this neighborhood for years. There is always a lot of clanging sounds from stainless steel sheets being moved around or loaded onto trucks. The office is small and usually smells a bit like metal and old paper. We spend a lot of time on the phone or talking to people who walk in looking for specific grades of stainless steel. It gets pretty hot in the summer, but we keep the doors open to catch whatever breeze there is. There’s no big corporate vibe here, just a few of us working together to keep the business moving. Sometimes the stacks of steel get a bit high and we have to shuffle things around to find what we need. We don't have a lot of space for fancy displays, so everything is just stacked where it fits. It’s a bit of a struggle to keep everything organized when things are moving so fast, but we manage. Most of our neighbors are doing the same thing, so there’s a sense of everyone just trying to get through the workday. We handle the stainless steel trade the old-fashioned way, with handshakes and written notes.
