Shree Vallabh Metals

Shree Vallabh Metals is located on Dr. Atmaram Merchant Road, inside the old Bhonabhai Chawl. We are right near the Bhuleshware Kabutar Khana, which is a local landmark that almost everyone in this part of Mumbai knows. Being in this specific part of the city means the area is always packed with people, handcarts, and delivery bikes. Our space is number 17/21, and it’s quite small and narrow, like most of the shops in this neighborhood. We have metal sheets and different parts stacked up against every single wall to make use of the height. You really have to be careful where you step when you walk inside. It’s an old building, and the rooms have high ceilings but there isn't much natural light coming in. We’ve been here for many years, dealing with all sorts of metal items and scrap. The street outside is a constant buzz of loud activity, from the sounds of the birds at the Kabutar Khana to the shouts of the delivery men pushing heavy loads through the crowd. We don’t have a big corporate team or anyone in suits, just a couple of us who have known the trade for a long time. We keep all our records in big handwritten books and use an old calculator that’s missing a few buttons. Sometimes it’s a bit hard to find things quickly in the deep stacks, but we eventually get it sorted out for the customer. It’s a very traditional way of doing business, based on being here every day.
