Shree Simandhar Metals

Our business is situated at M-1, Shree Padmavati Bhavan on Thakurdwar Road. It’s an old building in a very busy part of the city, and we operate out of a couple of different spots including Parmanandwadi and Dr. Babasaheb Jaikar Marg. The area is always crowded with people and carts moving goods back and forth. Inside, we deal with various types of metals, mostly stocking them and selling to local workshops or builders. It’s a bit of a maze in here with stacks of metal sheets and pipes leaning against the walls. We spend a lot of time on the phone talking to suppliers or writing out bills by hand at the wooden desks. The air usually smells a bit like copper and iron, and there’s always a fine layer of dust on everything. It’s a traditional way of doing business, where we know many of the customers who have been coming to this street for years. We don't have a showroom or anything like that; it’s just a place where metal is bought and sold. Sometimes the deliveries are difficult because the streets around Thakurdwar Road are so narrow, but we manage to get the trucks in and out somehow. It’s a busy, cramped space but it works for us. We just keep an eye on the market and try to keep the right stock on hand for the people who need it to finish their own projects.
