Shree Shakti Steel Works

Our workshop is at 23/A in the Mittal Industrial Estate. We are in Building Number 6, right off the Andheri-Kurla Road in Marol. Being in Andheri East means it is always loud and there is always something moving. Shree Shakti Steel Works is a place of noise and metal. We do not have a fancy lobby or anyone to take your coat. You walk in and you are basically in the middle of the workspace. There is the smell of cut metal and welding all the time. It is hard work, and we have all got the callouses to prove it. We have been in this estate for a long time, and we know the other guys in the neighboring units. We help each other out with tools sometimes. Our desks are covered in dust from the grinding machines, no matter how much we wipe them down. We are not trying to impress anyone with a polished image. We just take the steel, do what needs to be done, and send it out. Some days are better than others. Sometimes the machines act up or a shipment is late, and we just have to deal with it. We drink a lot of tea and talk about the cricket scores while we work. It is a basic life, but it is what we know. We just focus on getting the orders right and keeping things moving along the floor.
