About Shree Natraj Institute Of Performing Arts – Art & Craft in Mumbai
If you go into the LIC Colony in Mulund East, you will find us at Shree Natraj Institute Of Performing Arts. This is a quiet residential area, mostly people who have lived here for years in the Bima Jyothi buildings. Our space is not very large, but it is enough for the classes we hold. You can usually hear music or the sound of feet hitting the floor if you walk past at the right time. We have different teachers coming in to show the kids how to dance or play instruments. It is not like those big fancy academies you see on TV. It is more of a neighborhood spot where parents drop off their children after school so they can learn something traditional. The rooms have some mats and mirrors, and we try to keep it tidy, though it gets a bit messy when the younger groups are here. Sometimes the neighbors come by just to chat or see what is going on. We have been in this colony for a while now. It feels like a small community inside a big city. People know us by name, and we know which kid belongs to which family. It is just a regular place for people who like the arts and want to stay close to home. We don’t do a lot of shouting about what we do, people just find us.
