Getting to Dahisar East can be a bit of a headache with the traffic near the toll naka, but once you get into Diamond Industrial Estate, things settle down. We are at G. No 9. The estate is always buzzing with the sound of work. At Shree Chehar Fabricators, we are usually busy with some kind of metal assembly. The smell of burnt metal and the flash of welding torches are what you’ll find if you step inside our unit. We do a lot of heavy lifting here. We aren't the type to sit in front of a screen all day. We are on our feet, measuring pipes, cutting plates, and joining sections together. It’s hot work, especially in the summer months when the metal roof of the estate heats up. We have a small area where we keep our tools and a tiny corner for sitting down to have a meal. Most of our customers are people who need sturdy things built for their own shops or sites. We don't do much advertising. People usually just hear about us through word of mouth or see the work we’ve done for someone else in the estate. We just try to make things that hold up well. When the day ends, we wash the soot off our faces and head out past the toll, hoping the traffic has cleared up a bit. It’s a long day but it feels good.
