Shiv Broker

We work out of Plot No. A-13 in Nem Vihar, which is on Murar Road in Mulund West. This part of Mumbai is always moving fast. Being in Mulund West means there are people everywhere and the pace never really slows down. At Shiv Broker, we have a small office that is mostly filled with desks and old chairs. We don't have any plush carpets or expensive art on the walls. Instead, we have stacks of documents and some old calendars. The phone rings a lot, and we spend most of our time talking to people about different deals. It can get quite loud when two or three of us are on the phone at the same time. We have a small fan that wobbles a bit but keeps the air moving. The window looks out onto Murar Road, so we can see the traffic jams and the people walking to the station. We usually have our tea brought in from the stall down the street. It’s a plain place, but it serves its purpose. We have been at A-13 for a good while now, and we know the other business owners in Nem Vihar pretty well. We don't try to impress anyone with a fancy office; we just focus on the brokerage work. It’s a lot of talking and a lot of paperwork, day in and day out. Sometimes it feels like we are always on the move even though we are sitting at a desk all day.
