Shipro Steel Industries

We've been at Chetan Cloth Market in Girgaon for a while now. It's number 36. It might seem strange to have a steel business right in the middle of a cloth market, but that's just how it ended up. We mostly deal with small orders and local guys who need specific bits of steel for their projects. Usually, the shop opens early and we spend the day sorting through inventory or talking to customers who walk in. It's noisy around here because of all the traffic and the other shops nearby. We don't have a big office or anything fancy, just a desk and a lot of metal. Some days are slow, others we can barely keep up with the loading. The address is pretty easy to find once you get into the market area. We’ve known the neighbors for years. Most people know where Shipro Steel Industries is if they’ve lived in this part of Girgaon for a bit. It’s hard work moving this stuff around in a crowded market like this, but we make it work somehow. If you come by, you'll probably see us checking the stock or writing out bills by hand. It's a straightforward setup. We don't do much advertising, mostly just people knowing us from word of mouth or seeing the sign when they're buying fabric next door. It gets hot in the afternoons, but that's just how it goes in Mumbai. We close up once the sun goes down and the market gets quiet.
