About Sheesha Sky Lounge – Food & Beverages in Mumbai
Being in Juhu is mostly about dealing with the salt in the air and the constant crowd of people. Sheesha Sky Lounge is our spot, and it’s basically an outdoor terrace. It sounds fancier than it is. Most of our day is spent moving furniture around because of the wind or the sun. We have these large umbrellas that are a pain to open and close. The view is nice, sure, but it means we have to clean the glass railings every single morning because of the smog and the sea spray. It’s not a high-end corporate lounge with a big manual. We just figured out where the tables should go by trial and error. The staff wears regular clothes, and we spend a lot of time chatting with each other when it’s slow. Sometimes the music system acts up and we have to fiddle with the wires behind the counter. It gets really busy on Friday nights, and then it’s just a scramble to make sure everyone has a place to sit. We don't have a big philosophy or anything. We just try to make sure the coal is ready and the seats aren't wet if it rained a little. It’s a lot of manual work, honestly. We spend more time carrying crates of bottles up than we do sitting down. It’s just a local Juhu business, nothing more and nothing less.
