If you walk down Dr. M.G. Marg and turn into 3rd Kumbharwada, you will find us at number 176. This part of the city is always packed with people moving metal rods and sheets around. It is a very old-school area. Shanti Metal Supply Corporation has been part of this neighborhood for a long time. The shop itself is usually filled with the smell of iron and the sound of heavy things being loaded onto handcarts. It is not a place for fancy suits or polished floors. We wear clothes that we don't mind getting a bit of grease on. The walls have seen better days, and the lighting is just some basic tube lights. We spend our days measuring out metal and writing down orders in big ledger books. It gets very loud when the neighbors are cutting steel, but we are used to it. Sometimes the rain leaks in a little near the front door, so we have to move the stock back. We don't do much in terms of advertising; people just know we are here at the same spot every day. Most of our regulars are local guys who have been buying from us for decades. It is a simple life of buying and selling metal. We don't have a big corporate team, just a few of us making sure the supplies go out to whoever needs them. It’s just how we have always done things.
