Shakuntala Cafe

Shakuntala Cafe is located right at Marol Naka. It is a very busy area with a lot of traffic and people always rushing to the metro or the buses. We have a small space here that we’ve kept going for years. It is mostly just family working here. We get up very early to start the cooking because people want their breakfast before they head to work. The place is not very big, so it gets crowded quickly. We don't have air conditioning or fancy chairs. Just the basic stuff that you need. We serve food that is simple and tastes like what you would get at home. Nothing complicated on our menu. Sometimes we run out of stuff by the afternoon if the day is particularly busy. We don't really do any advertising. People just see us when they are walking by the Naka and stop in. The street noise is always there, but you get used to it after a while. I have spent most of my life in this neighborhood, so I have seen it change quite a bit. But the cafe stays the same for the most part. We just want to do our work and make sure people don't leave hungry. It’s a lot of hard work and long hours, but it is what we know how to do. We don't have a big corporate office or anything. Just this shop.
