Our workshop is tucked away inside the old Bombay Talkies Compound in Malad West. It is a bit of a historic spot, but mostly it is just dusty and full of other small businesses like ours. We have been at 212/B for a long time. The place is usually quite loud because we are constantly working with metal and tools to make fixtures. There is always the smell of welding or cutting oil in the air. We do not have a nice air-conditioned showroom; it is just a practical space where the work happens. The floor is concrete and usually has some scraps of material lying around. Most of the guys here have been with us for years and they know exactly where every tool is kept. We have some old filing cabinets that have seen better days and the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint. Sometimes the rain leaks in a little bit near the back door when the monsoon is heavy, so we have to move the stock. It is a basic setup, but it works for what we do. We do not spend much time on the computer unless we are checking an order. Usually, you will find us out on the floor with our hands dirty. It is a bit of a squeeze when a big delivery arrives, but we always manage to find space.
