Our shop is tucked away at No. 116 in Gulalwadi, specifically on Kika Street. It’s a very old part of the city, and the streets are quite narrow, so things can get a bit tight when deliveries arrive. Shah Tilokchand Mayachand & Co. has been around this area for a long time, and we’ve seen the shops around us change hands many times over the years. We keep things pretty traditional here. There’s a lot of history in these walls, even if the paint is peeling a bit in the corners. We mainly handle the day-to-day trade that comes through the door. Kika Street is always buzzing with people, and you can hear the sounds of the market from dawn until late in the evening. We don't have a big corporate team; it's just us handling the paperwork and making sure the customers get what they asked for. Sometimes the rain makes the street a bit of a mess, but that’s just part of being in this neighborhood. We have our regulars who have been coming to us for decades, and we also see new faces who are just passing through Gulalwadi. We don’t try to be anything we aren't. We’re just a local business trying to keep the books balanced and the shelves somewhat organized in a very busy part of town. It takes a lot of patience to work in such a crowded spot, but we’re used to it by now.
