Inco Steel

Inco Steel is tucked away in Shop No. 1 at Vadgama House. Being on 3rd Panjarapole Lane means we are right in the middle of all that Mumbai action. It’s a tight space, but you’d be surprised how much steel we can actually fit in there when we stack it right. The lane is always full of carts and people shouting, which is just the way this part of the city functions. We’ve been at this address for quite a long time, so the walls have seen a lot of different faces over the years. We usually start the day early before the heat gets too bad, though it’s always a bit humid in the shop. We don’t have a big corporate team, just a few of us who know the sizes and the weights by heart. We write things down in big ledgers and keep a sharp eye on what’s moving. It’s a lot of physical work, moving pieces around and loading them onto whatever transport can fit down the lane. Sometimes the rain makes it a bit of a mess, but we just cover everything up and wait for it to pass. It’s a simple operation really. We know our neighbors, and they know us. We just focus on getting the steel out the door and making sure the paperwork isn't too messy at the end of the week. No fancy stuff, just work.
