We operate Sarah Stamping out of our unit near Saki Vihar Stadium Road and C G Road. It’s a big industrial area, so there is always the constant sound of metal and heavy machines in the background. We have been here for a good number of years now. Our setup is fairly simple with the old stamping presses and the metal storage racks for the dies. It's not a quiet place to work, but we have gotten used to the rhythm of the machines. Most of the time, we are busy with small local contracts for metal parts. We take the metal sheets and do what needs to be done according to the drawings people bring in. Sometimes the measurements are a bit tricky, so we have to be very careful with the manual settings. The roof leaks a little when it rains really hard during the monsoon, but we just move the machines away from those spots. We drink a lot of strong tea to keep going through the long afternoons. The staff is just a small group of local people who have lived in the area for a while. We don't have a big fancy office to show off. I usually just sit at a small wooden desk in the corner to do the paperwork and billing. The trucks come and go on C G Road all day long. It can be a bit dusty around the stadium road area during the dry months.
