Sameer Steel

Sameer Steel is located over at Kumbharwada in Rakshak Nagar, which is part of the Chandan Nagar area. It’s basically a yard and a small shed where we keep all the steel supplies. You’ll find all kinds of rods, sheets, and pipes stacked up in piles. It’s a heavy job, moving all that metal around all day under the sun. We started this because there was a need for a local supplier who didn’t mind dealing with small orders. A lot of the big places don't even want to talk to you if you only need a few pieces. We handle the cutting and sometimes some basic welding if a customer asks us for it. The noise of the saw is pretty constant during the morning hours. It’s a gritty place, with rust on the hands and grease on the clothes most of the time. We don’t have a fancy waiting area or an office with air conditioning. People usually just walk into the yard at number 30 and tell us what they’re looking for. Rakshak Nagar is a busy spot with lots of small workshops like ours. We’ve been at this address for a while and have a good rhythm going with the guys who work here. It isn't glamorous work but it's an honest way to spend the day. We focus on getting the measurements right and making sure the truck is loaded properly. That's about all there is to it. No big speeches, just steel.
