Sadanand Coffee House

Worli West is where we are situated. Sadanand Coffee House is on the Ring Road, Gandhi Nagar 108. It’s a busy intersection. You can hear the cars zooming past all day and night. The windows vibrate a little when the big buses go by. We’ve got the coffee going early. The smell of it fills up the whole space at 108. It’s a comforting scent, I think. The tables are old wood. They’ve got some scratches and marks, but they are sturdy. We don't have a fancy menu. Just the things people expect to find. We aren't trying to win any awards. Sadanand Coffee House is just a place for people to sit for a minute. Gandhi Nagar is a nice enough area, though it gets crowded. We spend a lot of time washing cups. The sink is always full. Sometimes we talk to the people who come in, but usually they just want their coffee and a bit of peace. We don’t have a mission or anything like that. We just have the Ring Road outside and the coffee inside. We keep the floor swept and the lights on. That’s about it. When it’s time to close, we stack the chairs. It feels good to sit down ourselves after a long shift. Worli West has been our home for a long time now, and we like it that way. The city keeps moving, but we just stay here in our little spot on the road, doing what we always do.
