S R Metal

S R Metal is located on the ground floor of an old building on Dr Wilson Street. It’s a narrow road in Girgaon, so it can get pretty crowded with people walking by and scooters zooming past at all hours. We are at Plot No. 6/A. The shop is small, but we manage to pack a lot of stock into the space we have. We’ve been here for quite some time now, watching the neighborhood change around us. Most of our day is spent talking to people who drop in or handling the metal stock we keep stacked in the back. It’s definitely not a fancy showroom with bright lights. We just have some metal shelves and a wooden counter where we do all the paperwork by hand. The air feels a bit heavy sometimes because of the buildings being so close together on this street. We usually leave the front shutters wide open to get some air and light. It’s a lively neighborhood and you can hear the sounds of the street vendors all day long. We know most of the people who live and work around V P Road. It’s a very local feel here, nothing like the big malls. We handle the metal pieces one by one, checking them over as we go. It’s straightforward work. We don’t have a website or any fancy advertisements; people usually just find us by walking down the street. We close up the shop in the evening and head home. It’s just a regular shop run by regular people.
