S. M. Steel Pvt. Ltd. is located inside the Saukatali Compound on the Andheri-Kurla Road. This part of Andheri East is always humming with activity. We are pretty close to the Kumari Hotel, and the Leela Hotel is right opposite us across the road. It is a bit of a contrast, seeing the fancy hotel while we are here in the compound dealing with heavy steel. The Marol Naka area is famous for its traffic, and sometimes it takes ages just to get a truck out of the gate. Inside the compound, things are a bit more industrial. We have piles of steel sections and plates everywhere. It is a noisy place with the sound of metal clanking and the constant roar of the traffic outside. We have been operating from this spot for quite a while. The office is just a small partitioned area inside the main shed. It gets pretty humid during the monsoon, and the roof makes a lot of noise when it rains. We just focus on getting the steel moved and the orders sorted. It is not a glamorous job, but it is what we know. We don't have any big corporate philosophy. It is just about showing up, moving the metal, and heading home once the sun goes down. Most of the guys here have been working together for years, so we have our own way of doing things.
