S K Blackodising

S K Blackodising is over in Bhandup West. We are at Gala Number 2 in the Bhachan Singh Compound, which is near Hind Rectifire. The compound is usually full of trucks and people moving crates around. Our workshop is small, but we have our setup for blackodising all sorts of metal parts. It’s a process that makes things look black and helps stop them from rusting. It’s not a clean job; our hands are usually stained by the end of the shift. We have the tanks lined up and we follow the steps to get the right finish. It’s not something you can rush. The lighting isn't the best in the gala, but we know our way around. We don't have a receptionist or a waiting room. If you come by, you’ll probably find us mid-work, covered in aprons. We’ve been in Bhandup for a while and we know most of the other shop owners in the compound. We usually have a radio playing in the background to pass the time. It’s repetitive work, dipping and rinsing and drying, but it’s what we know how to do. We don't spend money on fancy ads. We just rely on the fact that we've been here doing this for a long time and people know where to find us when they have a batch of parts that need finishing. It’s just a regular day-to-day business.
