S. D. Nandha & Co. operates from a small room in the Secretary Chawl over at Walkeshwar Road. It’s Room Number 4, right near Rajbhavan. This part of Mumbai is quite well-known, but our office is very basic and down-to-earth. We have been working as chartered accountants from this spot for a long time. The space is filled with desks and cupboards that are overflowing with files and tax documents. We don't have a big sign or a lobby. People just walk in when they need help with their financial matters. Walkeshwar can be quite busy, but inside the office, we try to focus on the numbers. We handle the usual stuff like bookkeeping, auditing, and filing tax returns for individuals and small firms nearby. There isn't any fancy corporate talk here. We just explain things as they are. Sometimes the humidity makes the paper curl, and the fan doesn't always reach every corner, but we get the job done. It’s a lot of sitting and calculating, which might seem boring to some, but it's what we know. We are just a few people trying to keep the accounts in order for our clients. There is always a stack of journals to go through and a phone that rings at the wrong time. It’s a busy life, but it’s our life here on Walkeshwar Road. We don't mind the clutter as long as the math is right.
