N. Shantilal Shah & Co.

If you walk down C.P. Tank Road, you will find us at No 72. We are in Shop No. 1, right at the front. N. Shantilal Shah & Co. has been part of this street for a very long time. It is a very tight space because this part of the city is always packed with people and traffic. We have things stacked up high to make the most of the small shop. Every day is a bit of a challenge with the noise from the street coming right through the door. We see all kinds of people walking by, and many of them have been our regulars for years. The shop doesn't have any of those modern glass fronts or bright lights. It’s just a traditional place with wooden counters and old shelves that have seen better days. We spend a lot of our time talking to customers and checking the ledgers. It’s a very manual way of doing things, but it works for us. The area around C.P. Tank is famous for being busy, so we never really have a quiet moment until we pull the shutters down at night. We don't really try to be anything we aren't. We are just here doing our business and keeping track of the stock. It’s a bit cramped, and the tea gets cold fast because we are always busy, but we wouldn't be anywhere else after all these years.
