S. B. IMPEX

We are S. B. IMPEX, tucked away on the second floor of the Mahendra Chatrabhuj Building. The address is 25/AKeshavji Naik Rd., which is right opposite the Bhat Bazar Fountain. This area of Mumbai is old and very crowded. The streets are narrow and filled with handcarts and people carrying heavy loads. Our building is one of those classic South Mumbai structures with high ceilings and old wooden doors. It is not the easiest place to navigate if you aren't used to it. We have been here for quite some time. The office is full of ledgers and old files because we like to keep track of everything manually sometimes. Being near Bhat Bazar means we are right in the middle of the trading action. You can hear the auctions and the bargaining from our windows. It is a bit chaotic, but it has a rhythm we understand. We don't have a big marketing budget or a shiny website. Most of our work comes from people who know us or have dealt with us for years. We just focus on getting the orders right and making sure the paperwork for the imports is solid. It is a lot of mundane work, but it is what we do. The tea man comes around twice a day, and that is usually the highlight of the afternoon for the staff.
