Ruby Steel

Ruby Steel is tucked away on Kika Street, right in the middle of Gulalwadi. If you know this area, you know how crowded it gets with all the steel shops and laborers carrying heavy loads on their shoulders. Our place at 183 is pretty much like the others around here. We have stacks of steel everywhere and the floor is always a bit dusty from the metal. It’s a small space, but we make it work. Most days involve talking to people who stop by looking for specific sizes or types of steel. We don’t really do big advertising or anything. People just know we are here. The traffic on Kika Street can be a real headache, especially when we are trying to load up a truck for a delivery. There’s a lot of shouting and horns honking outside our door. Inside, we just focus on the scales and making sure the counts are right. It’s a family-run kind of vibe, even if we aren’t all related. We’ve seen the market change over the years, but the core of the work stays the same. You buy, you sell, and you hope the prices don’t jump too much overnight. It’s a tough business sometimes, but it’s what we know. We aren't trying to be the biggest, just trying to stay steady and keep the shop running for another day. We just take each order as it comes and do the work.
