We’re located in Sharda Chamber No.2, room number 211. It’s right there in Masjid West. If you’ve ever walked around the 400009 area, you know it’s a tight squeeze with all the carts and people moving about. The building is usually buzzing with activity from all the other offices inside. We’ve been at Royal Shipping Agency for a long stretch. Our space is just a couple of rooms filled with all the stuff we need to get through the day. It’s not a big corporate setup. The desks are made of old wood and the chairs creak a little when you sit down. Most of the day is spent handling the usual things that come through the door. We get a lot of noise from the street, but that’s just Mumbai life for you. The humidity can be tough in the afternoons, so we keep the fans going at full speed. We know the neighbors in the other offices pretty well. Sometimes we share a tea in the hallway during a slow moment. It’s a practical place to work. We don’t have a receptionist or a lobby. You just walk in and we’re right there at our desks. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy from morning till evening. We don’t worry about making the place look like a magazine. It’s just where we do our jobs. The files are stacked high and that is how it stays.
