Roopam Steel

If you find yourself on 1st Khetwadi Lane, you'll see us at number 19/21. That's where Roopam Steel operates. It’s a narrow street, so it can be a bit of a squeeze getting larger items in and out, but we make it work. We’ve been in this spot for a good while. The shop isn't huge. It’s packed with different steel items from floor to ceiling. Sometimes it feels like there isn't enough room to turn around, but we know where everything is tucked away in the corners. We spend our days measuring things out and cutting pieces to the size people want. It’s dusty work and your hands get dirty pretty fast here. We don’t have a fancy waiting room or anything like that. People usually just stand by the counter and tell us what they’re looking for. We try to keep a decent variety of stock because you never know what someone might walk in and ask for. The lane is always busy with people and other shops, so there’s always some noise outside our door. We’re just a regular group of people working with metal. We don’t have a big marketing department or slick brochures. We just write things down in our ledger books and fill the orders as they come. It’s a simple way of doing things, but it works for us. We've seen a lot of regulars over the years. They know exactly where we are.
