Ritikaawood

Ritikaawood is located on the 4th floor of Homeo House, which is on 15th Road in Khar West. It is a nice part of the city, though the streets are narrow and can get quite clogged with cars and rickshaws. Working on the 4th floor means we are a bit removed from the noise of the street, which is good when we are trying to focus. We work with wood, so there is often that nice, earthy smell throughout the office. It is not your typical corporate office. We have samples of different grains and finishes lying around on the tables. Sometimes the floor is a bit dusty from the samples we are checking, but that is just part of the job. The light comes in pretty well through the windows in the afternoon. We have a small team here, and it is a pretty relaxed atmosphere, though we stay busy enough with the projects. Khar West has a lot of little cafes and shops, so we usually step out for a bit of air during the day. The building, Homeo House, is easy enough to find once you are on 15th Road. We spend a lot of time discussing designs and looking at how different pieces of wood fit together. It is more of a studio feel than a factory. We just come in, do our thing with the materials we have, and head home when the sun sets over the Mumbai skyline. It's just a regular workday for us.
