Rex Steels

Rex Steels is located at 81 Maruti Mandir Marg, right on the 5th Kumbharwada Lane. If you’ve ever been to Kumbharwada, you know how tight the lanes are and how much activity is packed into every square inch. We have been here in this spot for years, dealing in all sorts of steel products. Our shop is crowded with pipes and rods, and sometimes it feels like we are playing a game of Tetris just to get things organized. It’s a noisy neighborhood with the sound of metal hitting metal all day long, but that’s the rhythm of this place. We don't have a receptionist or a waiting room. You just walk in, find one of us, and tell us what you are looking for. We might be in the middle of loading a truck or counting stock, but we’ll get to you. It’s a very hands-on kind of business. We know our regulars and we know which suppliers actually show up on time. The building itself is old, like most things around here, and the stairs are a bit steep. We just focus on keeping enough stock so people don't have to wait too long. It is a tough, honest way to work, and we wouldn't have it any other way. The heat in the summer makes the metal touch really hot, so we all wear thick gloves and just get on with it. It’s just how we live and work.
