Multitrade is on the third floor of Mercantile House over on Magazine Street. We are right opposite the Britannia Biscuits factory on Reay Road, so sometimes the air smells like baking bread, which is a nice change from the usual city smells. The office is in an old commercial building with high ceilings and big windows. We do a lot of general trading from here. It involves a lot of coordinating between different parties and making sure the goods are moving as they should. We have a lot of old wooden furniture that’s been here since we started. It’s not the most modern place, but we like it. The walk up to the third floor keeps us fit since the lift is often being used for moving boxes. We spend most of our day on the telephone or typing out emails. There are stacks of catalogs and price lists all over the place. We don't really have a formal dress code; we just wear what’s comfortable for a long day of work. Sometimes we go down to the street to grab a snack from the local vendors. It’s a steady kind of life. We don't have any fancy mission statements or anything. We just try to make sure our clients get what they ordered on time. It’s a simple business and we’ve been at it for a long time. We start our day with a quick check on the current inventory.
