Our place is tucked into Shop No. 2 inside the Jafarbhai Compound. It’s right on Police Station Road in Surya Nagar, which is a pretty busy spot in Vikhroli West. You can see the Hill View Tawer from where we stand, which is a big contrast to our little shop. LBS Marg is just a stone's throw away so there’s always a lot of noise from the buses and cars passing by. The compound itself is a bit old and dusty, but it works fine for what we do with steel. We spend most of the day moving heavy stuff around and making sure things are organized. It’s not the cleanest job in the world and our clothes usually show it by the end of the shift. We have a few guys working here who have been around since the start. We mostly just focus on getting the steel out to whoever needs it without making a big fuss or using fancy talk. Sometimes the rain comes down hard and we have to move everything inside quickly to keep it dry. It’s a regular routine of lifting, measuring, and talking to the truck drivers. We aren't trying to be anything fancy or corporate. We just run a small business in a busy part of Vikhroli and try to keep up with the daily demands. There’s usually someone around to answer questions if you walk into the compound during the day.
