Ravindra Metal

Ravindra Metal is situated in Parekh Market over in Khetwadi Girgaon. We are right on Charni Road, which is always full of activity. If you know where Alankar Cinema is, we are just a short distance from there. It’s one of those parts of town where things never really stop. The market is packed with all sorts of shops, and we are tucked in among them. Space is tight, so we have to be very organized with how we stack our metal stock. We deal with all kinds of people, from big contractors to guys just looking for a small piece of pipe for a home fix. It can be quite noisy with the traffic on Charni Road and the general bustle of the market. We don't have a lobby or anything like that, you just walk in and we talk at the counter. The air is always a bit metallic and the floor is usually covered in dust, but that's how a metal shop should be. We’ve been here long enough to know most of the other shop owners nearby. We don't do much in the way of promotion, we just rely on being in a good spot where people can find us easily. It’s a bit of a squeeze sometimes when a big delivery arrives, but we make it work. We're just local people running a local business, nothing more than that. We take our tea in the afternoon and close up when the sun goes down. It's a busy life in Girgaon.
