Down here at 70 Khetwadi, right by Dhayari Phata, you’ll find us at Kesuri House. Ranjeet Steel is more of a hands-on kind of operation. The air usually smells a bit like metal and old grease, which is just part of the job when you deal with steel all day. It’s a busy corner of the neighborhood. We have trucks coming in and out, and there is always something being moved or loaded. It gets loud. If you aren't used to the sound of metal clanging, it might be a bit much, but for us, it’s just background noise now. The office part of Kesuri House is simple. We don't have much in the way of decoration, just some calendars on the wall and stacks of order forms. The floor is concrete and it stays cool even when it’s hot outside. Sometimes the neighbors come by just to chat for a minute while we are working. We’ve been in this spot for a while, and people know where to find us. Dealing with steel isn’t a clean job, so our clothes usually have a bit of dirt on them by noon. We don’t mind it though. It’s a steady pace here, and we just focus on getting the orders right and making sure the inventory is where it should be. It’s not a complicated life, just a lot of heavy lifting and making sure the day's work gets done before we close up.
