Ranflex Metals

Ranflex Metals is tucked away at 39, Dr. Deshmukh Lane, in the Sagar Building off V.P. Road. If you have ever been to this part of Mumbai, you know how busy and cramped it is. The lane is narrow, so if a truck is unloading, nobody else can get past. Our spot in the Sagar Building is where we keep our inventory and handle all the sales stuff. It is a lot of metal pipes, sheets, and fittings everywhere you look. We don't have much in the way of a showroom. Usually, customers just tell us what they want, and we find it in the stacks. It is a very hands-on job. We are often moving things around to make space for new arrivals. The air usually smells a bit like oil and metal. We have a few desks squeezed into the corner for the paperwork and the phone. It is loud because of the street noise and the sound of metal clanking together, but we are used to it by now. We usually get our tea from the stall at the corner of V.P. Road, and that is our main break for the day. We don't have a website that we update or anything like that; we just talk to people face-to-face or on the mobile. It is a straightforward way to run things. We just focus on what is in front of us and try to get the orders out before the evening traffic gets too bad.
