Ranbaxy Steel & Engineering Co.

Our shop is in the Pawala Building, which is number 43/17. We are up on the second floor. This is right in the 3rd Kumbharwada area, directly opposite Durga Devi Udyan. If you know this part of the city, you know it’s always crowded and full of activity. We deal mostly in steel and different engineering supplies. There are stacks of metal and parts everywhere you look. It’s a bit of an old-school way of doing business, but it works for us. We spend a lot of time on the phone talking to suppliers and customers about dimensions and weights. The stairs up to the second floor are a bit steep, but we’ve been here a long time so we don’t mind. It’s a noisy neighborhood with all the trucks and workshops nearby. We don’t have a marketing team or anything like that. It’s just us handling the orders as they come in. Most of the people who buy from us have been doing so for years. They know where we are and what we have in stock. We try to keep a good variety of items because you never know what a customer might need for a repair or a new project. Sometimes we have to hunt through the storage to find a specific piece of steel, but we usually find what’s needed eventually. It’s honest work and keeps us busy from Monday to Saturday. There is always something to move or organize around here.
