Ramesha M Y & Co is tucked away in the B.D.D. Chawls at Worli. We are in Block 42, up on the second floor in Room 56. G.M. Bhosle Marg is usually quite lively, so there’s always some noise coming in through the window. This isn't a fancy office with air conditioning in every corner. It’s a traditional setup where we sit and work through the accounts. As chartered accountants, we spend most of our time dealing with numbers and government forms. The walls are lined with binders full of records from years ago. We’ve been in this building for quite a bit, and we know most of the people around here. It’s a practical location for the small businesses in the Worli area to drop off their bills and receipts. We don’t go for flashy advertisements. Most people find us because someone they know told them we do a decent job with the tax filing. It can be a lot of work, especially during the audit season when we stay late into the night. We handle the paperwork, do the calculations, and make sure everything is submitted on time. It is a simple life of balancing books and answering questions about tax deductions. We don't have much time for anything else, but we like the routine of it. The office might be small, but it’s where all the important work happens every day for our clients in Mumbai.
