You can find our base over in Bhandup West, near the Gurumurthappa Garden on Sarakki Main Road. It’s a busy area and we are usually up before the sun starts to show. Our day is mostly about talking to drivers and making sure the trucks are where they need to be. There is a lot of checking clipboards and looking at maps of the city and beyond. The office is pretty basic, just some chairs and a big calendar on the wall that we use to track everything. It gets dusty because of the road right outside, so we’re always wiping down the desks. We have a lot of drivers coming in and out, sharing news about traffic or road closures. It’s a lot of coordination and sometimes things don't go as planned because of a flat tire or a blocked highway. We just handle it as it comes. There is always a pot of tea on somewhere because the days can be long and tiring. We know the local shopkeepers around the garden and we’ve been part of this Bhandup neighborhood for a while now. It’s not a fancy life, but we like the movement of it. We just keep the wheels turning and make sure the goods get to where they’re going without too much fuss. It takes a lot of patience to deal with the traffic but we’ve gotten quite good at it over the years. We just keep our trucks moving.
