Rajesh Patekar and Company is located in Kurla East. We are in Building 30 of the Prerna CHSL, specifically Flat 501. Nehru Nagar is a busy area, and being on the fifth floor gives us a bit of a view of the rooftops around here. We started this accounting practice because there was a need for someone local to handle the books. It’s a lived-in space, a bit cramped with all the document storage, but it works for us. We aren't looking to be the biggest firm in Mumbai. We just want to make sure the people who come to us get their audits done properly. Most of our day is spent staring at computer screens or going through paper records brought in by clients. Dealing with the tax authorities takes up a lot of time, so there is always a bit of stress when deadlines are near. We drink a lot of chai and just keep pushing through the piles of work. Sometimes the neighbors pop in just to say hello, which is the nice thing about being in a residential building. We don't have a receptionist or a glossy brochure. If you call, one of us will answer the phone. We take the work as it comes and try to stay organized, even when the paperwork feels like it is taking over the room. It's just a regular local business doing its part. We keep it simple and get the filing done.
