Rajco Steels

Rajco Steels is over at 138/15 in 3rd Kumbharwada, right on Dr. M.G. Mahimtura Marg. If you know this part of the city, you know it’s always crowded and there’s always someone moving metal around. We’ve been in this spot for a long time now. The shop isn’t much to look at, just a place with a lot of steel stacked up. We deal with all sorts of rods and sheets. Most days are spent just counting inventory or helping a truck driver back into the narrow lane without hitting anything. It gets really hot in the summer and the fans just move the warm air around, but we’re used to it. We don’t have a fancy showroom or a big staff in suits. It’s just a few of us here. We keep a ledger, take the orders, and try to get things out the door. Sometimes the traffic on the Marg is so bad it takes forever for a delivery to arrive. We just sit out front on old stools when things are slow. It’s a basic business. We don’t go in for big promises or fancy talk. If we have the steel you need, we tell you. If we don’t, we might know who does. It’s a noisy, dusty life in Kumbharwada but it’s our life. We’ve seen the neighborhood change a bit, but the work stays the same.
