Rainbow Metal Works

Rainbow Metal Works is located at 128 Kika Street, specifically Shop No. 10 in Gulalwadi. This area is known for metal work, so we fit right in. It’s a noisy part of town. You can hear hammers and machines from morning until night. Our shop is small but we use every inch of it. There are bits of metal and tools everywhere. It’s not the cleanest place, but it’s a workshop, not a showroom. We get grease on our hands and dust on our clothes every single day. That’s just the nature of the work. My father taught me how to handle the machines when I was just a kid. Now I’m the one showing the younger guys how it’s done. We don't have fancy brochures or a marketing team. If someone needs something made or fixed, they just walk in. We talk about the job, give them a price, and get to work. The tea stall guy brings us cutting chai twice a day. It’s the highlight of the afternoon. We work hard, sometimes late into the evening if a big order comes in. The light in the back is a bit dim, but we know where everything is by touch. It’s a simple, honest way to make a living in Gulalwadi. We don't ask for much else. We keep a spare set of goggles for visitors, but not many people stay long because of the noise.
