Our place is on Magazeene Street, right in the middle of Darukhana. If you know Reay Road, you know how busy it gets around here. It's an old area with a lot of history in the steel trade. We’re at number 35. It’s mostly stacks of metal and heavy lorries moving in and out all day long. The air usually smells like iron. We spend most of our time moving stock around or helping someone load up their truck. It isn't the cleanest part of town, but it’s where the work happens. We don’t spend much time sitting in an office. Most of us are out on the floor. People come here when they need specific steel pieces. We try to keep things organized, but in a place like this, things get messy fast. It’s noisy with the cranes and the metal clanging against each other. We’ve been here long enough to know most of the regulars. We don’t do much talking, mostly just checking sizes and weights. Sometimes the rain makes things difficult, but we manage. It’s a basic operation. No fancy signs or big advertisements. Just a steel yard doing what it’s supposed to do. You can find us easily if you follow the sound of the heavy machinery near the docks. We just keep our heads down and get the metal out to whoever needs it and get ready for the next truck that pulls up outside.
