Our place is in Shree Bhuvan building, which is tucked away on 4th Khetwadi Lane. If you know Mumbai, you know these lanes are incredibly narrow and always packed with people and carts. We are at number 9, and honestly, sometimes it is a struggle just to get the door open if someone has parked a bike poorly outside. It is an old building with a lot of character, though the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint if we ever found the time. We handle steel here, mostly just small and medium pieces that we can move through the tight corridors. It is a bit of a maze inside, but we know where every single piece is kept. We don't have a receptionist or a waiting area. People usually just walk right in and ask for what they want. It is a very direct way of doing business, which is how we like it. The fan in the corner rattles all day, and the ledger on the desk is getting pretty thick with entries. We have seen many shops in this lane come and go over the years, but we have managed to stick around by just being regular people who know their trade. It is loud, it is crowded, and it is often very hot, but it is home for us. We just keep our heads down and get the orders out as they come.
